Fifteen-year-old Fatima Nasser has never had the opportunity to go to Walt Disney World because she suffers from a life-threatening lung condition that prevents her from traveling, but on October 27, the Make-A-Wish foundation of Eastern Ontario brought the magic of Disney to her.
According to CTV Ottawa, Nasser took a stretch-limo ride to Best Buy, went on a shopping spree, got pampered at the York Street Spa, was whisked off to the Presidential Suite at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, was given a gown fit for a princess from Dominique Levesque Bridal, ate a gourmet dinner prepared by Creative Kosher Catering and was driven to the National Arts Centre in a horse-drawn carriage compliments of Cundel Stables.
Fatima was then made the guest of honor at Broadway Across Canada’s production of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella. She was also taken backstage to meet actress Tatyana Lubov who stars in the title role. Nasser told CTV Ottawa, "It’s like the highlight of my life." Nasser sat in the Queen’s Box during the performance, and the audience was given glowing blue star necklaces to wear in tribute to the teenager.
