Ottawa’s 2013-2014 Season Will Include Jersey Boys, War Horse and More

Ottawa’s 2013-2014 Broadway season will include the Tony-winning play War Horse and the blockbuster musical Jersey Boys. The season lineup will also include the new musical Flashdance. All shows will play the National Arts Centre.

Jersey Boys will play Ottawa June 26, 2013 through July 7. The Broadway blockbuster takes audiences behind the scenes of music sensation Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The show includes such hits as “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Oh What a Night.”

Flashdance will shimmy onto the Ottawa stage from October 22, 2013 through October 27. Based on the hit 1983 movie, Flashdance tells the story of Alex, a working-class girl from Pittsburgh striving to make her dreams of becoming a professional dancer a reality. The show features the hit songs from the movie, “Flashdance—What a Feeling,” “Maniac” and 10 original songs.

War Horse, the winner of five Tony Awards, will run from January 21, 2014 through January 26. Using extraordinary puppets, War Horse tells the story of young Albert and his beloved horse, Joey, who is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France at the outbreak of World War I. Albert, unable to forget Joey and still not old enough to enlist, embarks on a mission to find his horse and bring him home.
